Presenters:
Guy Felicella is a Peer Clinical Advisor at the BC Centre on Substance Use. Guy spent years in the grips of addiction and now dedicates his career and personal passion to advocating for harm reduction and removing the stigma against addiction and substance users. In addition to his career with the BCCSU, Guy commits his time to public speaking at conferences, seminars, summits, schools, podcasts, documentaries and written articles. He educates the public and students on safer supply of drugs, decriminalization, harm reduction and treatment options. Guy is pushing barriers to address the current overdose crisis and addressing the truth behind the toxic drug supply.
Kevin Hollett (he/him/his) is Associate Director of Communications at the BC Centre on Substance Use, where he oversees the organization’s communications and stakeholder engagement work. Kevin’s a communications professional whose work has focused on public health and social justice. Most recently, he was the director of communications for Pivot Legal Society, a non-profit organization that uses the law to address the root causes of poverty and social exclusion, and is the former editor-in-chief of Megaphone, a social enterprise that publishes a magazine sold on the streets of Vancouver and Victoria by homeless and low-income vendors.
