Virtual Event: Supporting interpersonal relationships

Date: February 7th, 2024

Time: 9 AM- 1:30 PM Pacific time

Our first virtual event of 2024 is designed to build core knowledge that can be used for practice and policy development in frontline support work, offering two different topics that are embedded in relationships.

We invite you to attend one or both sessions.

Providing services to a couple can present intricate layers that differ from working with an individual. Each session will offer information so you may enhance connections and build hope for the people you support. Session information may be used to shape support services and policies.

Evaluations from previous virtual trainings have requested we try some changes to scheduling, so we’re giving it a go and will be keen to hear how that works for you. Each session will be slightly longer with more time for discussion, and the break between sessions will be longer.

The positive force of undetectable equals untransmittable (U=U)

Zoé Bordeleau-Cass of CATIE and Breklyn Bertozzi of Canadian Positive People Network will talk about the life changing impacts the science behind Undetectable Equals Untransmittable (U=U) has brought to people living with HIV. We’ll learn what it means to be undetectable and the research that underpins this important impact on peoples’ lives. We’ll also cover how to communicate this message to people who use your services, its community impact, and practical supports for couples where one person is living with HIV and their partner is HIV-negative (also known as serodiscordant relationships).
