(HIV and Aging WELL: WE Live & Learn Together)

Realize and the CTN’s Clinical Care Management Core are pleased to present the 4th Canadian HIV and Aging Symposium — HIV and Aging WELL: WE Live & Learn Together — an exciting event held over 3 days in October. The Symposium will feature a diverse group of speakers and panelists discussing loneliness, future care, and support, and optimizing sexuality among other topics. Our esteemed keynote speaker, Dr. Giovanni Guaraldi, will open the symposium with a presentation on frailty, focusing on a proactive geriatric approach. Community respondents will discuss each topic and participate in panel discussions throughout the three days. The third day will engage participants in an interactive policy dialogue exploring ageism in the HIV/hepatitis C/sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (HIV/HCV/STBBI) response in Canada. Join us online and in person (in Calgary)! All events are free!

The symposium will take place over three half days in October 2023:

  • Wed 18, Oct 2023 (11 AM- 2 PM Pacific time)
  • Thurs 19, Oct 2023 (11 AM- 2 PM Pacific time)
  • Fri 20, Oct 2023 (9 AM- Noon Pacific time) (virtual only)

The event will be hybrid with in-person attendees in Calgary, Alberta and virtual attendees joining via Zoom from across Canada.

Participation in this fully bilingual (English/French) and accessible symposium is free and all who are interested are welcome to attend.  The meeting will bring together diverse participants who share a mutual interest in HIV, aging and older adulthood.
