HPV Prevention, Care, and Research- a Knowledge Connect webinar

At least three out of four people will be exposed to human papillomavirus (HPV) at some point in their lives, and there are different kinds, or strains. Some strains cause warts, which are generally not dangerous; other strains can lead to cervical or anal cancer if not detected. In this webinar, Dr. Troy Grennan will share information and respond to questions about HPV, especially in 2SLGBTQ communities.  Presentation points will include:

  • HPV health literacy
  • HPV prevention (including vaccine timing and dosing)
  • anal cancer screening and care
  • the PEACH study, which focuses on MSM and trans women living with HIV.

 

Presenter

Troy Grennan is the physician lead for the Provincial HIV/STI Program at BCCDC. He is also a clinical associate professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at UBC.
