PAN has been contacted by the Financial and Corporate Sector Policy Branch of the BC Ministry of Finance. We share this information here for all of our members who may wish to take part in this consultation.
We are writing to inform you that the BC Government is conducting a consultation on proposed amendments to the Societies Act. Over the past two-and-a-half years, the government has been monitoring how the new Act has been working for societies. Based on feedback, proposed amendments have been developed to address the issues that have come to light.
Related amendments to the Business Corporations Act and the Cooperative Association Act are also being proposed.
