HIV-positive Ottawa Man Guilty of Attempted Murder

A 31-year-old Ottawa man has been found guilty of three counts of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated sexual assault after failing to disclose his HIV-positive status to sex partners.

Verdict comes a month after Supreme Court ruling

Thursday’s guilty verdict comes after a controversial Supreme Court of Canada ruling last month, which states people are required to disclose if they have HIV if their viral load count is deemed high enough to potentially infect someone with the disease.
