Every year, Universities Without Walls finds placements for 12 UWW Fellows in AIDS Service Organizations, policy environments or research settings. Since 2009, we have successfully connected students from academic disciplines such as nursing, social work, sociology and public health with Field Mentoring Placements working with women living with HIV, Aboriginal peoples, gay men, and youth in activities as fun and diverse as organizing community gatherings and training peer researchers. Our evaluations tell that the benefits are mutual.
